First week at UNI!

Hello!
Here is where I'm going to introduce myself. My name is Craig, and I'm a student at The University of Leicester. I'm studying Biological Sciences (Zoology) and I'm currently in my first year. 
This blog is basically going to be a kind of diary for me during my time in Uni. I'm going to try and provide a realistic look into the life of a student at the University of Leicester, and hopefully that will be helpful for anyone looking to study here.
So I've been here for about 6 weeks now so I've settled down nicely, and I think things have calmed down enough for me to be able to start doing this. 
I arrived here a day earlier that I was supposed to, thinking it'd give me a little more time to get to know my flatmates etc. But obviously they didn't arrive until the next day, so that was a slight doosie on my part, though the early birds party in the on site bar (S-bar) was good fun and I met a load of people in there. 
If you don't know how the student accommodation works here in Leicester, basically, most of the first years will be living in Oadby student village, which is where all the halls are located. The halls are all pretty near each other and each site has it's own little bar/launderette/music rooms etc. 
So during the first week we had no real lectures, so we were free to go out every night and get as wasted as we wanted without fear of waking up stupidly early the next day for lectures, which was nice. There were a lot of different events and stuff on over the week, like a UV party, School Disco etc. so if you're coming to study here, remember to bring school attire and clothes that you don't mind ruining. I met most of my current friends during the first week, and it's a great time to meet as many people as you can. :)
Once the first week was out of the way, lectures started for real so I actually had to get up in the morning, which was a pain. Though the lectures weren't really that tough, it was basically just A-level chemistry to help anyone who didn't do chemistry catch up. Since then the lectures have pretty much continued in the same fashion, with me not really needing to take that many notes as I did Chem at A-level. 

I think that'll do for my first post. Hopefully that'll give you a little snippit into the first few days at uni, and if you want to know more about how life has been up to now be sure to check back regularly, because I'll hopefully be posting a new post every few days. :)
Next time I'll tell you about the weeks between then and now, and how I managed to handle Freshers Fair.
